Today, we begin a whole new sermon series on the life and book of Nehemiah. Most Christians will remember that Nehemiah is known for rebuilding the wall around Jerusalem. Yet, that is not the main reason God sent him from Persia, some 800 miles away, to return to Jerusalem. God sent Nehemiah to repair, rebuild and restore the Jews' belief and faith in God again. Repairing, rebuilding and restoring the wall around Jerusalem was just the means by which God would do this.
