The Book of Easter initially reads like a fairytale -- a kind of Cinderella story. A single young teengage girl goes from being a peasnt to a princes -- or queeen in this case. But unfortunately, this is not the case. The Book of Esther is about how all the players are out for their own self-interest. As we heard last week, God is never mentioned in this book. Why? To symbolize how the Jewish people living in exile in Babylone and Persia had forgot their faith in God. Today, we pick up with the next major player in this story -- Mordecai.
